Top 10 Songs that People Fall Asleep To

Top 10 Songs that People Fall Asleep To

There’s nothing like a little music to put you in the mood, for bed that is.  For some, a little soothing music puts them to sleep (although we’re sure others could sleep through a rock concert). Spotify, one of the largest music streaming services in the world, keeps track of what their users are listening to, even when they want to unwind and catch some zzz’s. Here are their top 10 Most streamed songs for sleep around the world.

10. “Skinny Love” – Birdy

Not to be confused by the equally soulful song by Bon Iver of the same name.

9. “Let Her Go” – Passenger

This song is a soothing as it gets, and the British accent, for reasons we can’t quite explain, is very calming.

8. “Earned It” – The Weeknd

Given that this song was from the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ soundtrack, this song definitely has people heading to bed, we’re just not sure they’re going to sleep right away.

7. “All of Me” – John Legend

For those incredibly in love with their significant others, it’s hard to find a better song that this one. Bonus, you can wake up to the upbeat house remix of this song ft. Tiesto!

6. “Rain Sleep” – Thunderstorm

According to Spotify users, there’s not much more calming that the sound of the rain; this is legitimately just a recording of a stormy night. We’re listening to it while we’re writing this, and we’re just about ready for our afternoon nap.

5. “I’m Not The Only One” – Sam Smith

For those going through a breakup or struggle in their relationship, this is probably a popular go-to track. Although, we’re unsure if it’s putting them to sleep or adding to their grief.

4. “I See Fire” – Ed Sheeran

Can’t get enough of this English ginger? Neither can we. We could probably fall asleep to any of his songs, and in fact, he’ll make another appearance on this list.

3. “Love Me Like You Do” – Ellie Goulding

I think we’re seeing a trend here, a lot of English artists are appearing on here. We can only guess that people really trust their voices. This one is a bit of surprising thought, because it’s a little upbeat with more bass than any other songs mentioned here.

2. “Stay With Me” – Sam Smith

We’re almost certain that Sam Smith has the voice of an angel, so no shocker seeing him pop up again. In fact, we’re sure if Spotify had a list of most streamed love songs, he’d be on that list as well. In fact, we just found this song on the list of most streamed songs, ever.

1. “Thinking Out Loud” – Ed Sheeran

If you’re keeping score, that’s seven of the top 10 are English. Ed Sheeran pretty much dominates streaming, with this song also being the #2 streamed song of all time.
