Bedding Sales in December

Bedding Sales in December

Although many consumers look to Black Friday for the best deals of the holiday season, retailers are amping up sales in December to compete with the new retail holidays November brings. As much as 30 percent of some retailers’ sales happen during the holiday season. December 2017 retail sales beat economists’ predictions, and December 2018 is on track to do the same. Furniture and clothing experienced the highest growth last year, and retailers selling furniture, bedding, and clothes are likely to run promotions, sales, and specials to continue the upward trend in sales growth.

While both in store and online sales have steadily increased in quarter four since 2009, e-commerce is experiencing the biggest growth. Last year, non-store retailer sales were up 12.7 percent in December, as compared to data from 2016. These statistics point to the idea that though consumers still heavily rely on brick-and-mortar stores for holiday shopping needs, many, especially in the month of December, are enjoying the increased ease and comfort on online shopping to fulfill these gift needs. Many people look towards the holiday season to purchase mattresses, toppers, sheets, and pillows for themselves or loved ones because of the increased amount of sales in this product category. Whether you’re looking to take in the holiday spirit during one of the busiest shopping times of the season from an in-store retailer or you’re browsing online, you’re likely to find some of the best sales and deals of the year on bedding in December.

Retailers are apt to offer promotions during the holidays to reel in consumers who will spend an average of just over $900 on holiday gift giving. Customers are more likely to choose a product in which they feel they are receiving a deal on than one that is perceived as being full price. To get a cut of what consumers shell out around the holidays, retailers make themselves evermore appealing by offering the lowest prices of the year. December is a fantastic time to shop for a variety of products but especially bedding products. Black Friday has become less of a day and more of a retail season, meaning that these low cost deals will stretch well into December, so there’s no need to worry with the crowds and fuss of Black Friday for most bedding products. In fact, in the weeks leading up to Christmas, most items are on sale to promote Christmas gift giving spending.

Once Christmas is over, retailers seek to get rid of merchandise that did not sell during the lead up to the biggest gift giving day of the year. Many, many retailers run after Christmas deals and promotions. If you are not needing bedding to give as a gift for the holidays or do not have  a specific product on your wishlist, look towards these after holiday deals on mattresses, toppers, and pillows for some of the lowest prices falling at the very end of the calendar year.
